Health Care:
The government can not manage
health care as well as the private sector. We must remove federal
and state regulations that have made the HMO's and big drug
companies so powerful and have put the doctors and patients at their
mercy. Doctors should not have to continue spending more time and
money on bureaucratic paper work, red tape, and high costs. We must
free them to do what they do best, offering first quality health
care at a fair price.
We
should vote to make all medical expenses tax deductible.
We
should eliminate federal regulations that discourage small
businesses from providing health care coverage to their employees.
Doctors
should be given the flexibility to negotiate costs with insurance
providers, passing the savings on to the patients.
Every
Georgian should be eligible for a Health Savings Account (HSA). We
must remove the requirement that individuals must obtain a
high-deductible insurance policy before opening an HSA. This has to
be supported on a state level in order to change the policies
nationally.
Here in the CSRA, we must continue to support the growth of
the Medical College of Georgia (MCG).... LOCALLY, as well as
the private hospitals, and the those serving our military Veterans.
We have the infrastructure and personnel to be the leader in medical
education and treatment in GA and the Southeast. I will support you
and our local health care professionals by helping to keep MCG and
other medical facilities growing right here in the CSRA, and
continue to grow in Columbia, Lincoln, and Wilkes Counties. The
CRSA and District 117 should be the model of a better health care
system for the nation.
I
need your vote and support. I will be your
smart choice,
able to articulate the needs of our health care community.
