On Monday, The Committee to
Elect Brett McGuire kicked off a radio advertising
blitz with two strong endorsements. Former Mayor of Grovetown
Dennis Trudeau and Columbia County Commissioner Tommy Mercer
publicly endorsed Brett McGuire to represent District 117 in
the Georgia House Of Representatives. McGuire stated. "I am
honored to have two of Columbia County's finest gentleman and
most effective elected officials endorse me as their choice to
represent this district".
The radio commercials began airing on WGAC and WKXC and
contain strong, passionate statements from Trudeau and Mercer.
Both have known McGuire and his opponent, local farmer Lee
Anderson for many years. Mercer commented, "Anderson
grew up in the good 'ole boy system and still operates in the
good 'ole boy system".
In a recent interview on
Comcast’s Connect-Live, Anderson would not commit to
abolishing or reducing property taxes and wasteful spending.
He also stated he would go the Atlanta “without trying to
argue and debate the issues”.
From the beginning of the campaign, McGuire has stood firm on
his pledge to look for ways to reduce taxes, stop wasteful
spending, and represent the district as a true conservative.
Unlike his opponent, McGuire is educated on the issues and
knows how he will vote when elected. “I’m not afraid to
argue and debate the issues in Atlanta when they are in the
best interest of the families of District 117”, stated
McGuire. Now, more than ever, considering the current economy,
it is important that the district is represented by a person
such as Brett McGuire, who can effectively communicate the
concerns of the local citizens and not cater to the special
interest groups.
