Local Businessman Officially Qualifies for the Georgia House Of
Representatives
APPLING, GA-- Brett McGuire, the
conservative Republican candidate for the Georgia House Of
Representatives, District 117 was in Atlanta early this morning and
officially qualified for the seat which represents the majority of
Columbia County, Lincoln County, and a portion of Wilkes County. The
seat is presently held by the Rep. Barry Fleming (R-Harlem) who has
announced he will step down to pursue the 10th District
U.S. Congressional seat presently held by Paul Broun (R-Athens).
Accompanied by his Campaign
Manager, Lisa Taylor, and several Columbia County supporters,
McGuire commented, “this is an honor to qualify for the seat that
represents one of the largest Districts in Georgia. I look forward
to representing our district with honesty, integrity, and to be the
effective and articulate voice of our local families”.
McGuire was the Campaign Manager that
helped send Republican Jim Whitehead to the Senate in 2004. McGuire
has a solid background in local business, civic, and charitable
organizations. McGuire brings a common-sense approach and strong
work ethic to the District 117 race, and has a campaign platform
